If You have to prints a lot of documents, You can use HP Instant Ink with this printer, and it was awesome. The instant ink option will make it very helpful because you will never run out of ink. When your ink levels get low, the printer will send the information to HP, and they will automatically order extra cartridges so you never run out.

Paper jam and paper feed issues
Paper jams can happen in many areas. Clear paper jam from the input tray first. It helps to clear the paper path and make clearing jams from other locations easier. Then proceed to the next area until all paper jams are found and cleared.
- Remove all the paper from the input tray, including both loose and jammed paper.
- Lift and hold the input tray protection, and then use a flashlight to check for any jammed paper or unknown objects in the paper path. Remove any jammed paper or unknown objects you find.
- To avoid tearing any whole sheets of paper, pull the paper with both hands gently.
- Press the Cancel button, the printer will clearing the error status
- Remove all the paper from the output tray, including both loose and jammed paper

Cartridge Issues
Identify whether a cartridge has a problem. To identify whether a cartridge has a problem, check the status of the Ink Alert light and the corresponding Ink Level icon.
If you get a cartridge problem message from the printer software or the HP Smart app that states at least one of the cartridges has a problem, do the following to identify whether a cartridge has a problem.
- Remove the black cartridge and then close the cartridge access door, let see the result:
If the Ink Level icon for the tri-color cartridge blinks, then the tri-color cartridge has a problem.
If the Ink Level icon for the tri-color cartridge does not blink, then the tri-color cartridge does not have a problem - Install the black cartridge back in the printer, remove tri-color cartridge, and then close the cartridge access door, then:
If the Ink Level icon for the black cartridge blinks, the black cartridge has a problem.
If the Ink Level icon for the black cartridge does not blink, the black cartridge does not have a problem.
How to fix Cartridge problem
- Try to uninstall the cartridge
- Check if the protective plastic tape has been removed from cartridge
- Reinstall cartridge to printer
- If the problem still occur, try to clean the cartridge contacts
- If the problem still not resolved, replace the cartridges
How to clean cartridge contact
- Turn on the printer
- Open the cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center of the printer
- Remove the cartridge show in the error message
- Clean the cartridge contacts and printer contact
- Hold the cartridge by its sides with the bottom pointing up and locate the electrical contacts on the cartridge. The electrical contacts are the small gold colored dots on the cartridge.
- Wipe only the contacts with a dry swab or lint-free cloth
- On the inside of the printer, locate the contacts for the cartridge. The printer contacts are the set of gold-colored bumps positioned to meet the contacts on the cartridge.
- Use a dry swab or lint free cloth to wipe the contacts
- Reinstall the cartridge
- Close the cartridge access door
- Check if the error message has cleared. I error still occur, turn off the printer and then turn on again
- If one cartridge is causing problems, you can remove it and use the single cartridge mode to operate the printer with only one cartridge
How to fix Page not printing or unable to print (windows)
- Turn on the printer
- Put some paper on the input tray
- Check the error message from the printer software and resolve them by following the onscreen instructions.
- If your computer connected to the printer with a wireless connection, make sure that the connection is working fine.
- Make sure that the printer is not paused or offline
- Check that the printer is set as the default printer
- Restart the print spooler
- for Windows 10, click Start menu, select Windows Administrative Tools from the app list, then select Services
- for Windows 7, click Start menu, click Control Panel, go to System and Security, then click Administrative Tools. Double click Services menu
- find the Print Spooler, right-click on it then click Properties
- Check Startup type, verify that Automatic is selected then click OK
- Right-click on the print spooler again, and click Restart to restart the print spooler
- Try to using your printer again.
- If still not work, check the Print queue, if any document still pending in print queue, try to clear it
- If problem still occur, try to reinstall printer driver on your computer
How to resolve page not printing or unable to print on OS X and macOS
- Check for error messages and resolve.
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
- Verify that the product is not paused or offline.

- Click the Open Print Queue button.
- Click a print job to select it. Use the following buttons to manage the print job:

- In the printer software, click Print & Scan , and then click Set Preferences to access the print properties.
- Check the estimated ink levels to determine if the cartridges are low on ink.
- Align the cartridges
- Load paper into the input tray
- Open the printer software
- Click Print & Scan and then click Maintain Your Printer
- Click Align Cartridges on the Device Services tab, the printer prints an alignment page
- Follow the instruction to align the cartridges.
- Print a diagnostics page
- Insert paper into the input tray
- Open the printer software
- Click Print & Scan and then click Maintain Your Printer
- Click Print Diagnostic Information on the Device Repots tab to print diagnostics page
- Examine the color blocks on the diagnostic page, if any of the color block show white lines, faded, or are missing completely, continue to next step
- Clean the cartridges
- Insert paper into the input tray
- Open the printer software
- Click Print & Scan and then click Maintain Your Printer
- Click Clean Cartridges on the Device Services tab, then follow the instructions
Control Panel Error Codes and Status
There is a problem with the indicated cartridges. Check for an error message in the software and resolve it by following displayed instructions.
The printer receives a printing job, starts feeding paper, and detects that the paper width for the printing job is bigger than the width of the loaded paper. Press either Resume button or the Cancel button to cancel printing job and eject the paper
The printer receives a multipage printing job, detects that the paper length for the printing job does not match the length of the loaded paper, and then prints out the first first page of the job with errors. To cancel printing job, press Cancel button, to continue printing the remaining pages, press Resume button. The remaining pages will have same errors as the first page
The carriage inside the printer has stalled. Open the cartridge access door and make sure the carriage is not obstructed. Move the carriage to the right, close the cartridge access door, then press resume button to continue
There is paper jam, clear the jam, and then press the resume button to continue printing.
The scanner is not working, turn off the printer and then turn on again. If the problem still occure contact HP. The printer still prints even if the scanner is not working.
Error E6, the letter E and the number 6 are blinking. The printer is in an error state, turn off the printer, unplug the power cord. Wait for 5 minutes, and then plug the power cord back in. then turn on the printer. If the problem persists, contact HP Service center.
